Who would miss SNOW?????
... it's heavy, it's cold, it's wet...I had to move it from one spot to another spot (shoveling....ughhh).

But, here I am only my second southern Christmas and I miss the little flakes....

Little old found jewelry box, a little reworking, an old photo, some found objects...and a little sweet wish

... only because it is so darn easy...toaster...spread once....spread twice...love the combo...

...to a plain toasted english muffin...spread on a bit of ricotta and add fig jam ...YUM GOOD

I have picked up the shells for as long as I have dipped my feet in the ocean....

Now lucky me... I picked up this glass lamp at Goodwill ... a few moments figuring out how to take it apart .... bit of black spray paint ... a new shade and now my shells have a new home

I'm not sure why...but, I am drawn in to stop, look, and click...and with so many back roads...so many opprtunities!

The Cutting

While still desperately searching for my southern creative self.... I found some classes at the local university...Stamford After Dark.

And, block printing was one of them ...excitement... I always wanted to try this!
... and who doesn’t need to attempt craft technique # 427 ?

Held in the evening, only 2 classes...a simple block of linoleum and a speed tool...how hard could that be?

Damn hard.... but, now have a new appreciate for this craft!

Will definitely try another block...but will start off much simpler. A sea horse ...REALLY...what was I thinking???
The hardest part is getting your mind to think, negative and positive...what will hold ink and print... and what will not.

And if you attempt... the most needed tool....

I love it when the things at an estate sale jump out and say ...."take me home, I have a purpose... please, just take me and I will show you"

Granted, some sit for months... patiently... waiting for me to see what they came for... and others come home and jump right into their repurposing!

The Succulent

Succulent!

My new obsession... I used to think of these little ones only as cactus creatures.
 ...and as with all my projects, this one turned out nothing like it started!  I was sure a trip to Salvation Army would grant me a fish bowl, and I would be creating my succulent terrarium.

No fish bowl ...but these marvelous looking drinking glasses!  The top is a mirrored, kinda of mercury looking finish... hmmm...my other new obsession... mercury glass!  Wonderful!

Now, my trip to the greenhouse... before the trip to the Army, I purchased 4 little plants...

...the Army only had 3 glasses.... but on a shelf a few feet down is this darling little sugar bowl... SCORE!  Since I am potting with no drainage a few of these in the bottom... to keep the soil dry.

 

Aren't they just fitting to their name!

The Thirst

Traveling this week I had this amazing drink Slideshooter something or other. It was the MOST thirst quenching refreshing liquid...plus, a bit mellowing.. with a bit of vodka :)

So home, and off to the store....my new friends, lime and cucumber

  
Some water and a bit of Truvio ...a sit by the window to blend 

and here I am, just chillin.... and I have not even added vodka....yet?
